Looking to move to a great place in the DC metro area that has easy access to and from Washington DC via highway or public transit also has just about any type of property that you can think of? Check out Germantown, Maryland.

Germantown is located about 25 to 30 miles just outside of Washington DC. It has a population of approximately 91 thousand people which is the third most populous in the state of Maryland. With over 30,000 houses in a diverse population Germantown, MD has tons of culture with this culture there are tons of options when it comes to food and dining in Germantown some of the crowd favorites are royal bagel bakery which is awesome for bagels as it says right in the title but then it's a great bakery as well I would recommend the apple fritters all-day everyday if sushi is your thing then a place like gyaku or rainbow sushi would be two places that you can go and get your sushi fix the Dutch market has the best at Lancaster County has to offer everything from food to furniture and everything in between Long Laurent steak house for all the meat eaters out there senior tequila's for Mexican pica poyo has awesome Peruvian food I would recommend trying the chicken fried rice that they have over there there's pizza joints galore so if you're big pizza person there's plenty of pizza out here from Leto's to Paesanos too and pizza all depends on personal preference gumbo Yaya for a taste of the Bayou shopping so Germantown is not a huge hub for the high-end retail shopping places but the reality of the situation is you're not far from that at all you can take essentially it's go up one or two exits depending on which way you get on into seven you can be in Clarksburg at the Premium Outlets or you can take a trip down to Rockville Bethesda right into DC and it's all very close there are plenty of grocery stores right here in Germantown off the top of my head I can think of two giants there's in all these there's a Wegmans there's a shoppers so there's plenty of different options when it comes to grocery shopping big-box stores things like Target TJ Maxx its TJ Maxx a big box store I'm throwing it in there Kohl's Walmart staples Home Depot Best Buy Pet Smart the list goes on and on and on education so Germantown has 13 elementary schools that feed into for middle schools which then in turn feed into three different high schools in the area so make sure you check out Montgomery County Public Schools website to figure out which schools school districts neighborhoods and things like that that interests you Montgomery College has its largest campus right here in Germantown go Raptors transportation there's very easy access to and from I 270 there are actually three exits right here in Germantown I 270 takes you from the Beltway all the way up to Frederick and beyond so it is a main corridor to get you from point A to point B anywhere between DC and Frederick the MARC train is right in the middle of town which takes you from West Virginia all the way into DC so if you need to go from West Virginia to DC mark trains right here in the middle of town ride on bus which is the B city bus here in the county that takes you I believe in County they have approximately 100 bus routes there's a main hub right here in Germantown that service is about 20 of those a light-rail system is under evaluation the plans are to take you from right here in Germantown to the Shady Grove metro which is about a 15 minute drive but there are conversations and evaluations in place right now about getting the light rail system that get you right to the metro to take you right into the heart of DC housing Germantown offers everything from 15 affordable housing apartment complexes to million-dollar estate homes with acreage so you got it all in Germantown in recent years median sales prices in Germantown have been in the high twos so about that 290 price point to about the mid 300s which is about a hundred and fifty to a hundred and seventy thousand dollars less expensive than right here in Rockville which is a couple exits away off of 270 not only is Germantown close in proximity to some of the main attractions in the area but it is quite a bit more affordable parks recreation and entertainment some of the biggest draws for recreation in the area are the Soccer Plex right in Germantown the Soccer Plex is in close proximity to the adventure playground water park and just parks in general open spaces where families can get out and about and just enjoy being outside in nature there are also state parks so whether you want to go for a hike or you want to get out on the water and do some some fishing or just enjoy some outdoor space and some outdoor time there's plenty of it right here in Germantown if you like the Performing Arts Blackrock Center for the Arts is right here in the middle of Germantown town centers well plays concerts they do things outside when the weather is nice it's a great place to just go and be thoroughly entertained and the Blackrock Center for the Arts is right next to the public library so want Gummer II County Public Library System has a beautiful library right here off of century Boulevard in Germantown they do a weekly storytime which my daughter absolutely loves so if you're looking for a place with close proximity to Washington DC has plenty of lifestyle options for you and affordable living choices check out Germantown Maryland you won't be disappointed oh and before I forget the two most populous places in the state of Maryland number one being Baltimore number two
