Aspen Hill Park
Today, we're talking about Aspen Hill Park.
Aspen Hill Park is filled with some mid-size homes that are reasonably priced for the area. It's a well established neighborhood with easy access to Silver Spring, Rockville, and the surrounding areas. So if you're looking to be in that Montgomery County, close to DC and still close to it all, you might want to check out Aspen Hill Park.
The neighborhood started in the late 1950s. One of those post-World War II neighborhoods. It is filled with detached homes and some townhouses in there as well. Bedrooms range from three to five, there's going to be between two and four bathrooms in each one of these houses. The square footage goes from about 1,100 square feet, all the way up to 2,900.
When it comes to the real estate, the last 12 months have looked like this. The list prices have ranged from $375,000 all the way up to $615,000. That differs a little bit from the closed prices. And they've ranged from $380,000 all the way up to $650,000. The median sales price has been $525,000. So typically there's not an association with this neighborhood, so you don't have to worry about paying a monthly HOA or anything like that. Aspen Hill Park is between Veers Mill Road and Connecticut Ave. As I said before, it's centrally located. It’s easy to get around the area.
For your shopping needs, you have Aspen Hill Shopping Center, Northgate Plaza, and Aspen Manor. So whenever you need to do some shopping, not far at all. You're going to have some options when it comes to dining everything from Outback, with some steakhouses and stuff like that to a Panera bread, if you want a sandwich and some soup and all that other stuff. And there's plenty of other options as well. I just wanted to list at least a couple.
The neighborhood is car dependent. So your walk score is going to be 17 out of a 100, so you're going to need a car to get around or at the very least take some public transit or jump in an Uber. Transit score is a 43. As I said before, there is some mass transit there. You're going to need to utilize that to get around if you don't have a car, but there is some options there for you, whether it's the ride on bus or jumping on the Metro, which is not too far away in Rockville. The bike score is a 44. So if you like to pedal, you're a cyclist, you like to get around on your bike, it's a good area for that.
When it comes to schools, it is a part of Montgomery County, so you would be a part of Montgomery County Public School Systems. Make sure you check with the assessor's office to make sure you know exactly what school that your school age children would be bused to. If that's your deal, always check out the MCPS school assignment website for more information on the exact specific location.
The high schools that are assigned to the neighborhood are Wheaton and Rockville, Earl B. Wood and Parkland are the middle schools, Wheaton Woods, Rock Creek Valley, Brookhaven Elementary Schools are the three elementary schools that are assigned to that neighborhood as well.
