Wanna know how much your homes worth?
Here’s why most people ask me what their home’s worth:
1) They’re homeowners and they want to know how much equity they’ve built up in the current market.
2) They rent and have hit their breaking point with rent increases. They ask how much the current home (whether detached, townhouse or apartment) that they live in, is worth to see if they could afford the down payment and monthly mortgage payments on something similar.
If this sounds remotely close to what you’re thinking, here’s what I say you do:
1) Contact your agent. Why try to figure it out on your own. My job is to help you figure stuff out utilizing my experience, knowledge and resources. Don’t hesitate to reach out.
2) Start saving money. It’ll be time to reign in the budget to match your timeline. (Want to move sooner? Need more cash now.) This is the point where you have to prepare for earnest money deposit, down payment, closing costs, inspections and appraisals. These are the biggest barriers to entry for most first time home buyers.
