Cookin' With Dad - Chocolate Chip Cookies

Me and my girls have been talking about doing more cooking & baking as we have been huge fans of some of the popular baking and cooking shows on Netflix. We don’t have a lot of experience with baking and I can cook what I can cook, but we haven’t ventured out too far from our comfort zone. I guess this is our first step.

We went to the grocery store and just started buying the ingredients we needed for our chocolate chip cookies. Watch our step-by-step instructional video to make delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies from scratch in our very first episode of “Cookin With Dad.“

Ingredients:

1 cup (2 sticks) of unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter and sugar mixture and mix until well combined.
Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them a few inches apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
