Cost of living in Germantown MD

Germantown, Maryland. It's about 30 miles from Washington D.C. in Montgomery County. Montgomery County is the second best county to live in, in the state of Maryland, and Germantown is the 29th best place to live in Montgomery County, all according to niche.com. But what's the cost of living in Germantown?

When it comes to cost of living, one of the major factors that most people consider is real estate, so where you live. 63% of people own their home in Germantown as opposed to the 37% that rent. Median home value is in the mid-300s, so right around that $350,000 price point. The national average puts you just at around 217,000. So it is quite pricey to live here in Germantown or really anywhere in the D.C. Metro area.

When it comes to working for residents in Germantown, there are some pretty major employers in the area.
