House Showing
House Showing Procedure During A Pandemic
With this pandemic still in full swing I thought I would throw out the safety procedures I follow while assisting my clients with buying a home. In the midst of all this viral awareness and social distancing, real estate professionals are trying to do our part to keep people safe and continue to flatten the curve to hopefully get back to the (new) normal we all would like to return to.
The protocol I follow is simple but the premise is to limit exposure. It goes like this:
I get to the property 15 minutes before my clients do.
I show up with a mask, gloves, booties and disinfectant wipes.
I unlock the property, do a walk-thru and wipe down the commonly touched surfaces such as door knobs and light switches as I have a look around the house.
I then let my client know when they get there that I have been through and disinfected the usual suspects and that they may tour the house and I will meet them outside once they are done.
We can have a discussion outside maintaining the social distancing guidelines of staying 6+ feet apart so that I can answer any questions and get their feedback.
Then I go back through the house wearing all my protective gear to make sure all doors are locked and all of the lights are turned off, lock the house up and return the key to the lockbox.
Like I said it is a simple procedure but it is in the best interest of keeping everyone safe.
