Living in Bethesda MD

Living in Bethesda MD has so much to offer those who want access and proximity without being confined to DC. Bethesda provides easy access to Washington DC and the surrounding area, it has plenty of options for dinning, shopping, recreation and it is home to highly rated schools.

The location provides significant access if you work or play in DC or Northern VA. Bethesda has a stop on the Red line of the metro system for all those looking for mass transit to travel to and from work or other destinations. This is also where I270 and 495 (The Beltway) meet. This allows you to get around the entire DMV without much hassle.

When it comes to dining in Bethesda, you have lots of options. Woodmont Triangle has an awesome selection if you aren’t sure exactly what you’d like to eat. Select from places like Gringos & Mariachis, Olazzo, and Dog Haus Biergarten for a beer, brat and tots. You can also venture over to Bethesda Row for Bethesda Bagel & Raku. Or you can hit up a local favorite like Old Georgetown Grille. There is no reason to head anywhere else with the number of dining options in Bethesda.

Shopping is a breeze in Bethesda. Anything you need you don’t have to go very far for it. If you are looking for retail shopping your first stop may be Bethesda Row. They have a variety of shops for everything you need from The North Face, to LuluLemon to Anthropologie & Co. They also have shops for your jewelry and accessories for a night out on the town or grab home furnishings and gourmet cookware from Williams-Sonoma. You also have The Shoppes of Bethesda for additional shops and service providers. There are also plenty of grocery stores with some of the local favorites being Trader Joes, Whole Foods and Balducci’s.

Recreation is in the DNA of Bethesda. The first thing that pops into my head is the Taste of Bethesda celebration in the fall. This annual event is held in Woodmont Triangle and consistently brings out over 40,000 people every year. You get to experience the taste of over 60 restaurants outdoors with other locals and event goers in 1 day. There are also your typical outdoor recreation experiences like Cabin John Park, Bethesda Trolley Trail and other outdoor recreation spaces. There is also a bustling Arts & Entertainment scene including The Music Center at Strathmore.
