Downtown Silver Spring is right on the edge of Washington DC. It has about 3,000 homes. Downtown Silver Spring has excellent transportation, and there's also shopping and restaurants and stuff like that within walking distance. If this sounds like your kind of place, I think Downtown Silver Spring might be your kind of place.
Downtown Silver Spring has been around since 1904. It's made up of single family detached homes, condos, and townhouses as well. Bedroom ranges from studio apartments all the way up to the six bedroom houses. And the bathroom ranges are from one to seven. Square footage is going to range from 460 square feet all the way up to just south of 5,000. The range on list prices has gone from 125,000 to up over $1.1 million. Close price ranges are from $113,000 all the way up to 1.46 million. Median sales price is $407,000.
Based on what kind of living you're looking to do, there is association fees in Downtown Silver Spring. They can be as high as $800 a month. When it comes to the surroundings and what's going on, silverspringdowntown.com usually does a pretty good job of listing things. They host things like trivia nights, networking events, workshops. You also have the Jesup Blair local park right there in Downtown Silver Spring as well. You're going to have basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer fields, and playgrounds.
When it comes to grocery shopping, you're going to have Safeway, Whole Foods, Giant, and other markets and all that stuff in Downtown Silver Spring as well. There are plenty different restaurants down there. There's a few Thai restaurants. There's places like Sweetgreen, if you're looking for a salad. Cubano's Restaurant, CAVA. There's a bunch of different stuff to choose from in Downtown Silver Spring.
When it comes to retail shopping, you're going to have things like H&M, DSW, Men's Warehouse. There's a bunch to choose from down there. Downtown Silver Spring is a walker's paradise with a 99 walk score. It's also excellent for those who don't want to drive their own cars to get around, with an 89 transit score. It also has an 84 bike score, which makes it very bikeable.
