Woodside Park, Silver Spring
So this week, we're talking about Woodside Park. There is about 500 homes there, there have been 80 home sales in the last three years, the average days on market right now is about 88, and your taxes are going to be in that $7,000 a year range. Woodside Park was started in the early 1920s. It is made up of single-family detached homes, as well as some townhouses. Bedroom and bathroom range is going to be from two to six. Square footage is going to range from about 1200 square feet, all the way up over 6,000. When it comes to real estate, this is what the last 12 months have looked like. The list prices have ranged from $535,000 up to about the $2 million mark, closed price ranges are from $675,000 up to $1.6 million, and the median sales price is $865,000. There is an association here in Woodside Park, so that association fee usually works itself out to be about $135 to about $150 a month, or it can fall in the $330 to just over $400 per quarter price range.
When it comes to amenities, you're going to have things like playgrounds, skate parks, tennis court, basketball courts. You have Woodside Park that's right there, that was recently renovated in 2010. When it comes to grocery shopping, you're going to have your ALDIs, your Whole Foods and your Safeways, amongst a bunch of other things as well. And then if you need more retail shopping stuff, you can always head right to downtown Silver Spring and pretty much have your run of the mill with anything that you want, and it's pretty close by. When it comes to dining, you have a lot of options. Just to throw a couple things out there that the locals really like, Goldberg's New York Style Bagels and Spring Garden Asian Cuisine. But there's a bunch of other stuff there, right in the area as well.
When it comes to location and access, the walk score is a 69, the transit score is a 58, and the bike score is a 66. And then when it comes to school assignments, make sure you check the MCPS website. It'll tell you for every property which school you would be assigned to if you have school age children, if that matters to you. The high schools assigned to the area are Northwood and Albert Einstein. The middle schools are Silver Spring International and Sligo Middle School.
